In Present Simple tense, when we talk about he, she, or it, we must change the verb slightly.

πŸ“˜ Rule 1: Add -s to most verbs
πŸ’‘ Use this when the verb is regular and doesn’t end in -ch, -sh, -s, -x, -o, or -y after a consonant.
πŸ‘‰ Just add -s to the verb.
✅ Examples:
  1. run → runs
  2. eat → eats
  3. walk → walks
  4. play → plays
  5. jump → jumps
  6. swim → swims
  7. read → reads
  8. cook → cooks
  9. dance → dances
  10. drink → drinks
  11. sleep → sleeps
  12. write → writes
  13. work → works
  14. climb → climbs
  15. drive → drives
  16. look → looks
  17. call → calls
  18. help → helps
  19. talk → talks
  20. smile → smiles

πŸ“˜ Rule 2: Add -es to verbs ending in -ch, -sh, -s, -x, -o
πŸ’‘ If the verb ends in these letters, add -es.

  5. pass → passes
  6. fix → fixes
  7. push → pushes
  8. mix → mixes
  9. wish → wishes
  10. catch → catches
  11. miss → misses

  16. kiss → kisses
  17. stitch → stitches
  18. march → marches
  19. echo → echoes
  20. veto → vetoes

πŸ“˜ Rule 3: Change -y to -ies (if there is a consonant before -y)
πŸ’‘ If the verb ends in a consonant + y, drop the y and add -ies.

  5. fly → flies
  6. reply → replies
  7. copy → copies
  8. worry → worries
  9. hurry → hurries
  10. marry → marries
  11. deny → denies

  18. terrify (Extreme fear) → terrifies
  19. unify → unifies

πŸ’‘ If a verb ends in a vowel + 'y' (like play, enjoy, etc.), you do not change the 'y' — simply add -s.
✅ 20 Verbs Where a Vowel Comes Before 'Y' – Just Add -s
