Roundtable Discussion 1: Social Media – Good or Bad?
Useful Phrases for Group Talk:
  • “In my opinion…”
  • “I think social media is…”
  • “I prefer using/ not using social media because…”
  • “I agree/disagree because…”
  • “That’s a good point, but I think…”
Sample Discussion:
  • Student A: In my opinion, social media is very useful for communication.
  • Student B: I think social media is good for learning new things, but it can also waste time.
  • Student C: I prefer not using social media too much because it affects my studies.
  • Student D: I agree because sometimes I spend hours scrolling instead of reading.
  • Student A: That’s a good point, but I think if we use it wisely, it is helpful.
  • Student B: Yes, I agree. Social media is not bad, it depends on how we use it.
  • Student C: So, I think social media is both good and bad.
Roundtable Discussion 2: Friendship – What Makes a Good Friend?
  • Student A: In my opinion, a good friend is someone who always supports you.
  • Student B: I think a good friend is honest and tells the truth.
  • Student C: I prefer friends who make me laugh and stay with me in good and bad times.
  • Student D: I agree because loyalty is the most important quality in friendship.
  • Student A: That’s a good point, but I think kindness is also important.
  • Student B: I agree. A good friend should be both kind and loyal.
  • Student C: So, friendship is about trust, loyalty, and kindness.
